Hello there! My name is Ronelle Keglar, and I am Miss Black Georgia USA 2010! I am so excited about this year. The pageant world and responsibilities are all new to me, for was my first pageant, therefore my first title as well.
Well allow me to give you some quick info about myself. I'm from Indianapolis, IN, and I went to Alabama A&M University for my undergrad degree. I moved to the Atlanta area in 2007, and graduated from Georgia State with my masters this past May.
I've always loved being in sports as a child, and I continued to work out regularly as an adult. I even competed in my first figure fitness competition with Supernatural Bodybuidling Federation last October. This is why I am promoting my platform, Encouraging Healthy and Active Lifestyles: Decreasing the Overweight and Obesity Rate in Our Community. I want to help create a healthier Georgia.
Well, so far as Miss Black Georgia, I have made a couple appearances that I enjoyed very much so. Vino Libro hosted a book signing for Chef G. Garvin, a celebrity chef that specializes in soul food. He has a new cookbook out. Yes, I bought one, and I will try to improve my cooking skills. I also went to the Social Justice Humanitarian Awards Dinner and Gala at The Intercontinental in Buckhead. Ne-yo was honored for his foundation, Compound Foundation. Several other humanitarians were honored as well. I also got a chance to speak to some teenaged girls about self-esteem.
So as you can see, I'm hitting the ground running. Again, I am so honored and excited to have this title. I have lots of ideas, and I will keep you posted. I'll talk to you later!
